The sun is shining. People are taking their coats off left right and centre. I’ve never been to a Hay so warm and bright. And along with the blue skies come the warm smiles. Everywhere you look. It is a special thing – reading, stretched out on the grass. But, to be fair, reading any where’s pretty good. It’s fun.  And fun is a good thing. Sometimes we forget about the fun bit. If we want children – or anyone for that matter – to get into literature we mustn’t forget fun. It’s why we started reading for ourselves in the first place. And the thing about Hay, in the sunshine or otherwise – it’s fun.
